Cohorts: Improvements
We’ve added three significant upgrades to Cohorts analytics, giving you deeper insights into subscription behavior and accurate revenue tracking.Billing Period Filters
Filter cohorts by billing period (weekly, monthly) to understand which subscription plans drive the healthiest LTV.Different billing periods have very different purchase and cancellation behaviors — now you can analyze them separately instead of blending all subscription types together.
Cohorts Over Time
Added a new chart showing retention trends over time, with the ability to compare different cohorts.Track how retention in Period 1 and Period 3 changes over time to see if your product improvements are working, and compare cohorts side-by-side (e.g., Cohort 1 vs Cohort 3) to understand performance differences. This helps you answer questions like “Are we getting better at retaining users in their first period?” and “How does last month’s cohort compare to this month’s?”
Improved Refund Tracking
Improved how refunds are calculated in cohorts to provide more accurate revenue tracking.Refunds are now backfilled to their original transactions instead of being subtracted from the period when the refund occurred. This ensures accurate revenue calculations in every cohort segment and prevents data inconsistencies. Learn more about Cohorts →
Stripe: Phone Number Transmission
Added automatic phone number transmission to Stripe Customer records. When users complete a purchase in a funnel with a Phone Input element, their phone number is now automatically sent to Stripe and stored in the customer’s billing details. This is particularly useful for products that require phone verification or SMS communication as part of their user validation flow.
The Phone Input element must be placed before or on the same screen as the checkout. If placed after checkout, the phone number will not be transmitted.
Paddle: Customizable Checkout Options
Added more flexibility to Paddle checkout configuration in the funnel builder. You can now control which optional fields are shown to customers during checkout.
- Show VAT field: Option to hide the “Add VAT number” field in checkout
- Renamed “Allow coupons” to “Allow discounts”: The discount toggle has been renamed for clarity and remains a customizable option
Analytics: CR by Step — Funnel Version Filter Now Mandatory
Made the “Funnel Version” filter mandatory in the Conversion Rate by Step report. This prevents data inconsistencies when screen IDs change or new screens are added to your funnel.
- The filter defaults to the latest published funnel version
- You can specify a different version if needed
- Prevents misleading anomalies and fragmented metrics in visualizations
